On super long weekends and exhaustion
It's once again time for a crazy overarching post that covers a week or more.
We've been working on unpacking, and we're down to the last seven boxes (well, nine including the two my mom handed me).
Thursday
Thanksgiving began at 8am, when I began to brine the turkey and then put together the yams in the crock pot. The rest of the morning was spent doing laundry, unpacking boxes, and tidying up around the kitchen. After lunch, I spent a fair amount of time cooking a couple of casseroles - stuffing and green bean casseroles, for the most part. We jumped into the car at around 4:30pm and started cooking again once we got to my parents' house at 5. Overall, I got really good reviews on the food, so I consider it a success. I haven't been able to really reflect on Thanksgiving, but I will in a post sometime soonish.
Friday
We slept in on Friday until almost noon. this wasn't a great start to our day, as we were planning to clean our old place on Friday. Andy and I spent about three and a half hours (almost four) cleaning the old place from top to bottom. i was exhausted afterward, but we're glad we finished that. Again, I felt sad that the Mesa Verde chapter has closed, but we're also relieved that we finished that last thing.
Saturday
Unpacking. Unpacking. Worship team practice. Unpacking.
Sunday
The usual for Sundays: 8am call at church, 9:15 service, lunch afterward (though I mistakenly waited), then martial arts until 5pm, meeting with my girlfriends for dinner, and then home.
This week is looking to be equally as busy...
